Predicting the division winners next season after NFL Draft

With the 2024 NFL Draft officially over, let's predict who the division winners will be next season.

AFC East - Buffalo Bills

The Bills came into the draft needing to address multiple holes, the biggest being the wide receiver room after trading Stefon Diggs to the Texans this offseason. Buffalo filled this need by drafting 6-foot-4, 215-pound Keon Coleman from Florida State.

NFC East - Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles came into the draft needing to shore up a secondary that gave up 252.7 yards per game, ranking 31st in the NFL. Philly could not have done that better as they added two extremely talented prospects, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, with their first two selections.

AFC West - Kansas City Chiefs

This pick is no surprise as the Chiefs were able to snag wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who holds the record for the fastest 40-yard dash time in the NFL combine, running a 4.22. Worthy will join a talented receiver room with Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice.

NFC West - Los Angeles Rams

This might surprise some as the 49ers are heavy favorites to win the division for the third straight time. However, The Rams had an impressive draft picking up defensive end Jared Verse with their first-round pick. Verse is an elite pass-rusher off the edge, accounting for 18 sacks in two seasons at Florida State.

AFC North - Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals addressed their need to protect Joe Burrow by drafting Amarius Mims with the 18th pick in the draft. They filled holes on the defensive line by drafting Kris Jenkins and McKinnley Jackson and added offensive weapon Jermaine Burton. As long as Burrow is healthy, Cincinnati should be the favorite here.

NFC North - Detroit Lions

The Lions' odds of winning their division got better this weekend as they traded up in the first round to draft cornerback Terrion Arnold to shore up their problems in the secondary. Detroit should not only be the favorite in the North but also the favorite to win the NFC.

AFC South - Houston Texans

The Texans bolstered their secondary with cornerback Kamari Lassiter and safety Calen Bullock. With the addition of Diggs this offseason, Houston has become a dark-horse candidate to make a Super Bowl run, and after this draft, it added the much-needed depth to do so.

NFC South - Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons had a bizarre draft taking quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth pick in the draft just a few months after signing Kirk Cousins to a mega multi-year deal. While Atlanta’s draft was not what was expected, it still has the talent to win its division with ease.
