LeBron James passes Jordan to become greatest playoff scorer of all-time

In the history of the NBA playoffs, nobody has ever scored more points than LeBron James. In his game on Thursday against the Boston Celtics, James surpassed Michael Jordan, who held the previous record with 5,987.

It is worth noting that while LeBron passed Jordan’s point total, it took him significantly more games to do so. James passed Jordan in his 212th career postseason game. Conversely, Jordan played in only 179 postseason games.

But LeBron’s team is still going in the 2017 playoffs. Additionally, his teams are on the verge of making it to seven straight NBA Finals and don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.

So, by the time it’s all said and done, LeBron will likely be significantly ahead of Jordan’s total.
